Puerto Rico weather and disrupted airport transfers

Check the right sources

Use National Weather Service San Juan for current local weather information, your airline for flight status and Puerto Rico Ferry for sailing alerts. Conditions in San Juan can differ from the west coast or central mountains. A weather headline from a previous day cannot establish that a road or sailing is operating now.

Agree the change process

Before accepting a booking, ask how delays, route changes, rescheduling and cancellations are handled. Keep the written terms and the dispatcher contact. This website does not promise that a transfer will operate during every weather event or that a particular refund applies to all providers.

Protect separate connections

Tell the booking team about a Ceiba sailing, cruise departure or regional flight. Each operator controls its own service and boarding deadlines; a road transfer cannot make an onward connection wait. Discuss an alternative arrival plan if the original connection is no longer practical.

Mountain and rural destinations

Give the complete property address and ask the accommodation to confirm access when conditions change. Do not substitute a shorter map route without the assigned provider checking it. A safe and accessible final meeting point may be different from the driveway first requested.

Keep decisions in writing

Send the updated flight and date, then obtain confirmation of the revised vehicle, route, meeting place and amount. Save both the original booking reference and the accepted change so the return transfer does not remain attached to the wrong itinerary.

Sources & editorial approach

Official operators are linked for current airport services, routes and schedules. Our practical planning advice is editorial guidance; confirm trip-specific instructions with your booked provider.
